I enjoy drinking a cold smoothie as a meal replacement or snack, especially in the hot weather and I absolutely LOVE bananas but they are too high in natural sugar for me to eat except as a treat and on occasion. Here’s a way to get that strawberry banana taste without the sugar impact. If I make this smoothie as a late afternoon snack, I add a little whipped cream on top, then sprinkle it with ground cinnamon – OH YUM!
1 scoop Strawberry Protein Powder (I use Jay Robb Brand)
8 oz purified water
1 teaspoon banana extract (see below)
8 ice cubes
3 fresh strawberries
1-2 packets Truvia (optional)
2 teaspoons flax seeds
pinch of cinnamon
