Lisa’s Story In Her Own Words

My story goes like this. I had a really efficient metabolism until I hit the Big 4-0. Then I started slowly putting on weight, it crept up a couple of pounds a year until I woke up one day … chubby. I really didn’t eat a lot but I had terrible eating habits (skipping breakfast, etc.) and was a full blown SUGAR ADDICT (I had NO IDEA); eating a handful of pretzels here and a banana there… I liked sweets too. I would skip complete meals so that I could nibble on carbs; bread, pasta, crackers, pretzels, fruit, etc.

This way of eating caught up with me, big time. I went on a low carb, low glycemic diet and the weight started melting off. I was feeling so stoked that I took it a step further and began following the Paleo diet, concentrating on eating whole foods and avoiding starch, legumes and all of the other Paleo “no-no’s”. This was my winning horse, I could go on and on about how my and my husbands health improved but I will spare you the long read. The bottom line is: You need to get rid of sugar and eat whole foods for optimal health.
